As a coach for NVDM, Alex Sharp partners with triathletes of all levels, bringing a lifetime of elite experience to help them achieve their personal goals.
Alex’s immersion in the sport began at age 10, inspired by his father, a three-time Kona qualifier. This lifelong passion was forged in the mountains of Lake Tahoe and refined as a DII collegiate cross country and track athlete at Chico State under legendary coach Gary Towne.
While Alex’s competitive resume includes multiple Ironman World Championship qualifications in Kona and wins at major 70.3 races, his true strength as a coach lies in his "student of the sport" mindset. He champions the NVDM philosophy: that consistency builds champions, health is the bedrock of sustainable performance, and every athlete’s journey is unique.
He excels at translating his deep understanding of training and physiology into practical, data-informed plans. Alex is passionate about helping every athlete—from the first-timer to the seasoned competitor—build their confidence, discover their potential, and find joy in the process.
