Chris Hutchison
Chris’s coaching stands out for its clarity, adaptability, and emphasis on mastery over shortcuts.
CHRIS HUTCHISON’S path to triathlon coaching is built on decades of competitive swimming, hands-on coaching, and a practical, athlete-first mindset. A former Division I swimmer and lifelong endurance athlete, Chris brings deep technical expertise and real-world experience to athletes looking to improve performance without losing sight of sustainability and balance.
With more than 10 years of coaching experience, Chris has worked with athletes ranging from first-time triathletes to elite age-groupers and national-level competitors. His coaching philosophy emphasizes precise technique, intelligent structure, and long-term progression—helping athletes not only get faster, but understand why their training works. He is especially known for transforming swim efficiency and confidence, while helping time-crunched adults maximize results within demanding schedules.
Drawing on his background as a Division I swimmer and long-time triathlete, Chris has developed training programs for individuals, triathlon clubs, and performance-driven groups. He has led swim development clinics, built tiered training blocks for multisport teams, and guided athletes to personal bests across sprint, Olympic, 70.3, and Ironman distances. Many of his athletes have achieved breakthrough results—including podium finishes and championship qualifications—by overcoming long-standing limiters, particularly in the water.
Chris’s coaching stands out for its clarity, adaptability, and emphasis on mastery over shortcuts. Whether working with adult-onset swimmers or experienced competitors chasing marginal gains, he focuses on durable progress, technical excellence, and confidence that carries into race day.
