With over 30 years of experience as an elite athlete, nutritionist, and coach, Lon brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to the NVDM team.
LON BREITENBACH began his athletic career as a competitive swimmer, a discipline he pursued throughout his school years. At just 16, he transitioned into coaching, working with swimmers while developing a deep understanding of performance training. At age 24, Lon shifted his focus to triathlon, quickly distinguishing himself by qualifying for the Ironman World Championship in Kona during his first year in the sport. Over the next two decades, he competed at the World Championships six times between 1994 and 2014 and earned victories at both national and international races.
Achievements
After retiring from competitive triathlon, Lon dedicated himself to coaching, helping athletes meet the rigorous demands of endurance sports. In 2020, he began competing in Hyrox events, where he has since won his age group six times, including a recent victory in New York City in 2025. With over 30 years of experience as an elite athlete, nutritionist, and coach, Lon brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to the NVDM team.
